Yesterday's BPAL:
Obatala (milk, coconut meat, shea butter and cool, refreshing water): This was really lovely: started with a fresh coconut smell, then butter and milk came in. I wanted it to be stronger (I like them strong so I can actually smell them, as long as it's a smell I like). It hung out on milk and coconut for a while, a calming smell, not too sweet, and eventually turned more milky/buttery. As it faded, a touch of an odd plasticy smell came in, but didn't turn it bad. (4.5)
Black Pearl (Coconut, Florentine iris, hazelnut and opalescent white musk): Started out as a very strong hazelnut smell, which I liked, but then floral came in, and the two together just didn't work for me. Pretty quickly this turned into a barely there/soapy floral, and just got more and more soapy. :-P (2)
Aevel (sage, sweet pea, bold pale musk and warm tonka): Wet, this was a pleasant floral that swiftly became somewhat herby. For a while it smelled almost like licorice. Eventually the licorice went away and it became a touch sweeter and more floral, a fresh floral with some herb. Pleasant, though I wanted it to have a little more of a bite than it did. (3.5)
I've been putting links to these mini-reviews on my gSpreadsheet, btw. Sometime I will go back and write reviews for all the ones I tried before beginning this LJ review business.
